The main figure behind Eli's Endowment Fund is Bohuš Eliáš – known as Eli. Eli did not have a carefree childhood; he spent much of it in a children's home. Years ago, he suffered a serious leg injury that confined him to a wheelchair for a time. He found himself in a hospital, sharing a room with a boy from a children's home. They talked about what they had been through, and memories came back to Eli: how things work in children's homes, what troubles the children, what they lack, what would make them happy. It was not only this encounter that convinced Eli that for children from children's homes… 

For several years he financed all charitable activities himself, solely from his own resources. Over time a few friends joined him, along with several well-known figures from the cultural and sports world (see Who Supports Us). 

I have been following Eli's work for several years and decided to help him fulfil his dream – to establish a charitable foundation. Eli truly deserves it. He has gone through difficult periods in his life and yet (perhaps precisely because of that) he helps others. The foundation is the official way to expand and improve charitable activities for children's homes. Every contribution and any form of help is greatly appreciated.
